New income tax exemptions for Labuan entities announced
On 13 February 2025, the Income Tax (Exemption) Order 2025 (“Exemption Order”) came into force, providing for certain income tax exemptions on payments in relation to Labuan entities such as a Labuan company, and a Labuan trust. The Exemption Order takes effect in relation to the years of assessment 2023 to 2027, and revokes the Income Tax (Exemption) (No. 22) Order 2007.
This article summarises the exemptions provided for under the Exemption Order.
